Dermal fillers are a gel like material made up of hyaluronic acid (HA). Our own body produces HA, which contributes to connective tissue hydration, wound repair and regeneration, fibro blast proliferation, and collagen production – all of which provide support to our skin. Over time and with aging, we lose volume and support to facial structures. The role of dermal fillers is to restore and re-volumize skin and facial contours. There are many products available on the market lasting anywhere between 6 – 18 months, which are designed to resemble your body’s own natural HA.
Dr Shilpa only uses non-permanent Dermal fillers. Unlike Botulinum Toxins, HA fillers are reversible with the enzyme Hyaluronidase/Hyalase.
